Atlanta rapper Carlos Walker aka Shawty Lo has been killed in a car accident.  Shawty’s car was hit by another vehicle on I-285 at Cascade Rd, hit two trees and then caught on fire.  During the accident, Lo was ejected from the car.  Two other people in the car were injured and sent to the hospital.

Shawty Lo was the founder of D4L along with Fabo, Stoney and Mook-B.  They group released the hit single “Laffy Taffy” which eventually brought them a gold album.  Lo went on to launch the independent record label D4L (“Down for Life”) and released the solo hit song “Dey Know” which earned him “Track of the Year” and “Rookie of the Year” trophies at the 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Shawty Lo was 40 years old.  He leaves behind 11 children.
